TVS has just announced revised prices for its electric scooter, the iQube.
FAME II subsidy results in a drastic reduction
It now costs Rs 11,250 less than before
The on-road price in Delhi is Rs 1 lakh
A few days ago, a new amendment increased the FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India) subsidy on electric two-wheelers by 50 percent to Rs 15,000 per kWh. This has resulted in significant price reductions of electric two-wheelers. For reference, the Ather 450X electric scooter sees its price decrease by Rs 14,500, as a result of this amendment. However, the Bajaj Chetak will not witness a price drop because it hasn't received FAME II approval.
Ather 450X and 450 Plus 2021 price
Ather Energy e scooters in Bengaluru will now be cheaper by up to ₹14,500 to customers, whereas in Delhi the Ather 450X and the 450 Plus price has been cut by ₹13,500.

Suffice it to say that this price cut for electric scooters in India, brought on by the new revisions to the FAME II policy, will help further bridge the gap between IC engine-powered two wheelers and 100 per cent electric ones.
Ather 450X gets a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a belt-driven hub motor. This combination delivers a maximum power of 8 bhp and 26 Nm of torque. It is claimed to deliver a riding range of 85 km/charge in Eco mode and can be charged up to 80 per cent in just an hour. With DC fast charging, however, Ather 450X's charging rate is reduced to 1.5 km per minute.
